How to prevent oxidation of molybdenum electrodes

Pure molybdenum for the problem of easily oxidized at high temperatures, developed a kiln when roasted molybdenum electrodes to prevent oxidation of the glass-based coating. The coating is barium silicate glass as the main Cr2O3 the refractory filler added organic binder , with terpineol as solvent to prepare a suspension , applied by brush method molybdenum electrode surface. the effect of the amount of Cr2O3 on the oxidation resistance of the coating by spectroscopy (EDS) and thermostatic gravimetric analysis , when compared coated and uncoated protection , the difference molybdenum substrate surface oxygen content. the results show that the coating over a wide temperature range for molybdenum metals electrodes have good protection.
